1. Stewart Laing’s father Frederick founds his whisky blending business in Glasgow.

  2. Stewart joins his father in the family business, beginning his long association with the whisky industry.

  9. Hunter Laing & Co. Ltd is founded, with its headquarters at 16 Park Circus in Glasgow. The company absorbs both Edition Spirits Ltd and the Premier Bonding bottling company.

  10. Stewart celebrates 50 years in the scotch whisky industry.

  11. Acquisition and expansion of 14,000 cask maturation warehouse in East Kilbride.

  12. Acquisition of an iconic greenfield site at Ardnahoe, on the island of Islay. Planning permission granted in September of that year to build a single malt distillery.

  13. Construction of the Ardnahoe Distillery begins in January, with work progressing throughout the year.

  14. Ardnahoe Distillery begins producing spirit in October, with the first cask filled in November.

  15. Ardnahoe Distillery officially opens its doors to the public.

  16. Ardnahoe Distillery celebrate the spirit turning three, and the first ever dram of Ardnahoe Single Malt Scotch Whisky is drawn from the cask.
